MOS Red Dot Instructor Course
This course will familiarize the student with the implementation of red dot sights (RDS) on duty pistols. The course will cover equipment requirements and considerations for duty use, policy examples, sight pictures, sight acquisition, presentations, zeroing, sight reading/ tracking, target transitions, alternate positions, barricade shooting, malfunctions, shooting on the move, and low light engagements. Students will learn how to develop and instruct other students on various topics covered throughout the class.
Required Equipment: semi-automatic pistol with red dot sight , duty holster, 3 magazines, magazine holder, eye protection, hearing protection, ball cap, handheld flashlight/holder, weapon mounted flashlight, body armor, night vision goggles (if applicable), and 800 rounds of ammunition. Students must wear appropriate clothing for possible weather changes.
