
Concealed Pistol Course
The concealed pistol course is designed to give the everyday shooter, who conceals a handgun, the knowledge and ability to employ their handgun in the event they need it. This course picks up where the Ohio CCW course stops. It is meant for shooters whose only formal training is an Ohio Concealed carry course. The class will last approximately 8 hours.
Topics covered include:
Safety/medical briefing
The fundamentals of shooting
Average engagement distance in a self defense encounter
Drawing the pistol while static and moving
Shot placement
Balance of speed and accuracy
Use of cover
Moving and shooting
Emergency reloads
Tactical reloads
“Injured”/ one handed shooting
Equipment needed:
An open mind
Handgun (the gun you carry everyday)
400-500 rounds of FACTORY ammo (no reloaded ammo)
At least three magazines (If you don’t bring enough magazines, or you bring a revolver, the class will not wait on you to run up-range to load your gun. Please come prepared)
A holster (a kydex or new leather holster carried on the strong side of your body, or carried at appendix. Inside the waistband or outside the waistband.
No serpa holsters, shoulder holsters, old leather holsters, belly band or Ankle holsters will be allowed due to safety. Holsters must completely cover the trigger guard)
Eye protection (if you are wearing shaded eye protection, you must also bring a pair of clear eye protection)
Hearing protection (electronic hearing protection recommended)
Sunblock
Closed toe shoes
Long pants (no shorts)
A lunch and water (we will have a half hour lunch)
Recommended (optional equipment):
A brimmed hat
Long sleeve shirt
Backup gun
Please come to class ready and willing to learn.
