What is an OPOTA certification?
The Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (O.P.O.T.A.) is a network of training academies approved by the State of Ohio to conduct training and certifications. Join armed security officers who earn the 20 hr O.P.O.T.A. certification and are immediately eligible for full-time employment.
How do I obtain a CCW Permit?

Our CCW courses are conducted at our New Riegel OPOTA Training Academy. The class is 8 hours which includes 6 hours in the classroom and 2 hours on the range. Upon the completion of the CCW training course participants will receive a state certificate which is needed to apply for a CCW permit.
What is the 20hr OPOTA Course?
The 20 hour OPOTA course is for individuals who wish to work in armed private security. This class fulfills all requirements to obtain your OPOTC Private Security Firearms Certificate. As mandated by Ohio law, students successfully passing the class, will be able to demonstrate the following. This training course is conducted at our New Riegel, OH OPOTA Training Academy.
